Over the next few weeks leading up to NFTE NY Metro’s Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (YEC) Semi-Finals happening June 4th, we will be profiling every student participating in YEC. Stay Tuned. Today, we are profiling Rebecca L, CEO of To Dare is To Do.
Rebecca is a junior at the Business of Sports School (BOSS) and is the founder of To Dare Is To Do. The purpose of To Dare Is To Do is to provide sports for disable but independently mobile kids and teenagers ages 11-18. Her business is unique because, unlike other sports organizations for the disabled, To Dare it To Do is focused on kids and teens who are more independent and have a desire for playing sports. Rebecca’s goal is to bring awareness of the capabilities of these kids and teens to the public. Because of her experience participating in the Special Olympics, Rebecca will be well-suited to run this business. She is in a unique position to relate to the challenges of these kids and teens, which will help her and the athletes be successful. Rebecca’s future aspirations involve obtaining her own sports facility, which will include a public gym. She also looks forward to creating a mentorship program with scholarship opportunities for athletes.
