The evening will showcase the recent business launch success of this year’s Startup Summer class and will feature investment pitches from students seeking additional capital to grow their ventures.

Momo’s Mobile Mani aims to remove the stress of commuting to get top quality nail designs at an affordable rate. The mission of Momo’s Mobile Nails is to create beautiful nail desgins in a stress-free environment and convenient location for the customers. Customers will be able to be at home, work, or a location of their choice when getting their nails done! Moneshia’s goal is to help people find time in their stressful day to be able to do something that allows them to relax. With a background in nail design, Moneshia will make sure the designs are professional and cater to the customer’s needs. Moneshia is currently a junior at the Business of Sports School in Manhattan and believes that her interest, skill, and passion to do nails will provide her with a future that she will enjoy.

YD Khana aims to provide a fusion of foods from Nepal, Tibet and India as well as educate people about the culture and lifestyle of people living in these regions. YD Khana ensures customers get the taste of three distinct cultures in one healthy, fresh, and affordable bite.  Dikyi and Yangzen are both seniors at Brooklyn International High School and graduating this year with plans to continue promoting their business and delicious food to all customers.

SincerelyStacey creates bows that are unique to customer’s personalities. SincerelyStacey bows are both creative and inexpensive. In addition, these bows are not just for hair accessories, but can also be made into bracelets and iPhone case accessories. Customers can pick their own design and patterns to truly personalize their product! Stacey is a sophomore at Martin van Buren High School and is passionate about creating bows just for you!

Reverse Regime is a streetwear brand fashion that caters to young, urban people who are on a budget. Co-founders Ayinde Thomas and Haysten Perez want to use its fashion merchandise to educate the misinformed by promoting important political and social messages that affect young people today through fashion. Reverse Regime wants to work diligently to revamp the fashion industry by making it a priority to educate the consumer on important issues.  Currently, fashion companies provide products with no purpose or no important message to the general public.  Insert the “Reverse Regime” ideology and you have a company that makes great designs but establishes a relationship between the company, the community and its consumer.  Ayinde Thomas wants to become the youngest self-made billionaire and buy his dad a house in his homeland in Jamaica.

Peta-Gaye Thomas is solving the needs of parents who can’t attend their child’s sporting events while also fulfilling the needs of the athletes who want their pictures taken during the game for social media purposes. PG School Athletics creates a visual story through the art of photography to give parents memories of their child’s games so they won’t have to worry about missing another moment. As an experienced photographer, Peta-Gaye is more than qualified to run this business. She is currently a junior at Business of Sports School with plans to maintain her future career in photography by majoring in photography and journalism in college.

DREAM, which stands for “Discover, Reinvent, Educate, Apply, and Master,” is a tutoring service that will help students succeed in their weak subjects from Kindergarten to 8th grade. The mission of this business is to allow students to discover their true potential and show them the fun of learning. Improved grades will lead to an overall increase in enthusiasm in school. The goal is that students will apply and master the skills and materials learned from DREAM tutoring service in their everyday lives. Nawshin is a top student at Chelsea Career and Technical High School with previous tutoring experience and knowledge of both ELA and Math curriculums. Nawshin plans to attend college and major in computer science.

Babacar M’baye, CEO of Germ Free Hands

Babacar has taken his passion for public health and his love for innovation to develop an affordable and quality product to improve the quality of life for many of his customers. Germ-Free Hands provides customers with a handheld device that protects you from exposure to germs on the New York City Subway by giving you a protective barrier from the germ ridden pole.  This device was created through Babacar’s academic experiences in his entrepreneurship and history of design classes he took at Brooklyn International High School (BIHS). After graduating from BIHS, Babacar plans to attend and finish college at CUNY.

Quami Williams and Daniel Ramsey, Founders of Something Savory

Quami Williams and Daniel Ramsey are the founders of Something Savory – a gourmet waffle business. From a love for waffles and a shared frustration that school lunch rarely serves anything edible, this business idea was formed. Something Savory’s mission is to provide quick, savory waffles with a variety of topping choices. While starting in school, Quami and Daniel have plans to expand their business into their community. They are currently both seniors at August Martin High School with plans to continue studying business. Quami has family experience in the restaurant/catering business and has the future goal to own and operate a food truck business. Daniel is a skilled graphing designer with an interest in building on his skills in the future.
