P&Z’s Wingz & Tingz’s mission is to bring satisfying, authentic Jamaican cuisine to staff and students throughout New York City. With over 20 years of combined cooking experience, Phylicea and her partner, Zurri, grew up in Jamaican households where they were taught from a young age the tricks and trade of Jamaican cooking. Phylicea is currently in the eleventh grade at the Academy for Scholarship and Entrepreneurship in the Bronx with plans to major in Business and minor in Culinary Arts in the future.

My name is Vanessa, and I’m a freshman at Bronx Aerospace High School. My company, Nessa’s Chic Braids, is a hair braiding service that satisfies the needs of busy people. Nessa’s Chic Braids will provide clients who are too busy to go to hair salons with beautiful hair braiding in the comforts of their own homes. I’m qualified to run this business – I have been braiding hair for several years. I recently won second place in a competition for hair braiding and I have an apprenticeship at a hair salon. I am passionate about Nessa’s Chic Braids because I want both men and women to feel beautiful and confident.

Gary aims to provide small businesses everywhere with high quality, affordable print advertising that is currently only available to big businesses. As an experienced print technician, Gary, founded King Prints to provide affordable, beautifully designed, and high quality print advertising to small businesses with great customer service. Gary is currently a senior at Brooklyn High School of the Arts and works at an established printing company where he plans to continue to gain more experience and knowledge to advance the printing industry. 

Juan P, CEO of JP’s Production

Juan plans to level the playing field for all athletes regardless of which school you attend. Juan is taking students to the next level by producing videos that may become viral and be integral in helping students attain athletic scholarships. JP’s Productions will make every high school athlete’s dreams a reality by identifying their talents through creative video production. Juan is a junior at the Business of Sports School (BOSS) and plans to play sports in college while majoring in film.

My name is Vani. I’m 16 years old, and I am currently a junior at the Academy for Scholarship and Entrepreneurship. My business is called Jo’Voni’s Collection because our business is focused on fashion. Our business sells fashionable clothing to teenagers within our school. One major advantage of Jo’Voni’s Collection is that our clothing is made of sustainable, organic materials, such as cotton and bamboo. These materials are free of chemicals, environmentally friendly, and healthy for your skin.

Through his company, Shin Proz, Collin is bringing the next generation of soccer shin guards to the market. Presently available shin guards are hazardous and limit performance. Shin Proz uses advance technology to create a shin guard that is lighter than the competition and will not slip off. Through his years of playing soccer at an elite level, Collin has suffered numerous shin injuries. After months of experimenting, Collin has created a product that satisfies athletes, allowing them to have fun and perform at their best while still protecting them from injuries. Collin is currently a 10th grader at August Martin High School. In the future, he plans to study electrical engineering.

Emanuel M, CEO of Dynamic Motoring

Emanual is currently a junior at the Business of Sports School (BOSS) in Manhattan and plans to pursue a dual degree in mechanical engineering and finance in college and hopes to use that knowledge to continue to expand his business. 

Tayzah P, CEO of Diamond Dance Tutorials

Tayzah’s business, Diamond Dance Tutorials, provides an exquisite dance experience for diverse and extraordinary young women. As an experienced dancer and performer, Tayzah teaches under-privileged girls various styles of dance such as hip hop, jazz, modern, and contemporary. Diamond Dance Tutorials changes the lives of its students both physically and socially; they will come away with an increased level of self-esteem and a new and fun way to keep fit. Diamond Dance Tutorials will not only provide young women with lessons, but will also add them to a community of powerful girls and women. Prior to founding Diamond Dance Tutorials, Tayzah has assisted with teaching dance to teens at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, worked with the founding elder and artistic director of Dance Africa, and has performed countless times. Tayzah is now a senior at Brooklyn High school of the Arts with plans to attend Delaware State University this fall.
